Friends of Real Lancashire - Biennial General Meeting

Dear Member

FORL extend a cordial invite to you to attend the 2017 Biennial General Meeting (BGM) on Saturday 29th April. This takes place in The Bowland Suite, Myerscough College, Bilsborrow, Preston, Lancashire PR3 0RY.

 

   Timetable:

11.00 Members begin to arrive.

 

There will be light refreshments and a sale of goods.

This is a chance to meet with fellow members and the Committee.

14.00 A Tribute to ‘The Lancashire Burns’, Edwin Waugh, performed by Sid Calderbank*, accompanied by members and friends of The Lancashire Society and the Edwin Waugh Dialect Society.

 

15.00  A chance for members to visit the garden centre on the College Campus.                

DISCOUNT VOUCHERS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ATTENDEES.

 

A buffet lunch is provided which will cost each member or guest £10.

 

If you are interested in standing for the Committee please approach me on the day. FORL is always delighted to welcome new Committee members.

 

Directions

 

Travelling by road from the South:

 

Leave the M6 at Junction 32 - the junction incorporates the M6 and M55 motorways and the A6 trunk road.  Care should be taken to filter left following the ‘A6 Garstang‘ lane indicators.  On joining the A6, follow the ‘Garstang’ signs for three and three-quarter miles to a large sign on the left hand side of the road naming ‘Myerscough College’, and turn left along St Michaels Road.  The College is three-quarters of a mile along this road and involves a right turn half way through an S bend.

 

Travelling by road from the North:

 

Leave the M6 at junction 33.  On joining the A6 travel south following ‘Preston’ signs for about nine miles to a large sign on the left hand side of the road, naming ‘Myerscough College’ and turn right into St Michaels Road.

 

Please park in the Visitors Car Park and follow the signs to the Bowland Suite.
